Syllabus and Policy Sheet

Please note for all writing courses, the following information must be found on your syllabus or policy sheet:
 

  • Instructor’s name, office number, phone number, email, and office hours

  • Title and number of course
  • Course description
  • Course goals/objectives
  • Required texts for your course
  • Number and type of assignments and how grades will be calculated (ie, how many points each paper is worth)
  • Definition of plagiarism and university policy on plagiarism
  • Attendance policy for your class
  • Your policies for late work, grading, paper formatting, etc.
  • A note about students with disabilities: “If you have or think you have a disability that might affect your ability to perform work in this class, you should visit the office of Learning Enhancement and Academic Development (LEAD) in the Ryan C.
