In July 2004, I conducted a summer workshop "Critical Thinking and Problem Solving with Discrete Mathematics", a Discrete Math Leadership Institute for K-8th Grade Teachers to work with teachers in the Dayton City area.  The workshop lasted 10 days and their with 4 follow-up's that will be conducted during 2004-2005 academic year.  Involved in the program was Dr. Mike Daven (from Mount Saint Mary College), Dr. Janet Herrelko and Dr. Diana Hunn (from College of Education at University of Dayton), Janice Kowalczyk (from Rutgers University),  and the lead teachers Connie Cunningham (from Pennsylvania) , Mary Knuck (from Arizona), and Eric Simonian (from Rhode Island).

Funding for the project has come from Ohio Board Of Regents and the University of Dayton. The program was developed at Rutgers University by Joe Rosenstein. For more information on this effort, see Discrete Mathematics Institutes
