After taking a degree in science education at the University of Minnesota (B.S. Ed., physics & chemistry, 1981), I spent a decade in campus ministry throughout the upper Midwest. Still with an eye to ministry, I entered graduate school to study theology. After completing an M.A. in biblical studies and theology, I did doctoral work in philosophy of science, philosophical theology and theological ethics under Nancey Murphy and the late James Wm. McClendon, Jr. at Fuller Theological Seminary (Pasedena, CA). I moved to Ohio in the fall of 2001 to join the Religious Studies Department at UD. I teach a variety of courses, both graduate and undergraduate, in theological ethics and philosophical theology.
