Microsoft Expression Web

Microsoft Expression Web is UD's centrally-supported design tool for creating and editing individual Web sites. 

There are several easy-to use methods to host Web content at UD including Isidore and QuickPlace. But when students, faculty and staff need to create and manage their own Web sites, then Expression Web is the right choice.

This Web site contains three sets of resources:

• Training Resources - Learn how to use Expression Web.
• Templates - Get up and running quickly with some sample Web sites with a UD look and feel.
• Best Practices - Guide to creating accessible Web sites.

Although Expression Web is one of several applications in the Microsoft Expression suite, UDit provides support and training for the Web editor only.

FrontPage Users

Many Web sites at UD were originally created and maintained using Microsoft FrontPage.

When Microsoft discontinued FrontPage sales in 2006, UDit with input from faculty, students and staff researched alternative products to replace FrontPage.  The recommendation was to use Microsoft Expression Web. 

Although Expression Web will open and edit sites created with FrontPage, there are some significant differences.  The following two documents can aid users familiar with FrontPage as they transition to Expression Web:

Installing Expression Web

UD students, faculty and staff can download the Expression Web software from UD's software site.
