Sister Mary Eleanor taught me physics (and a lot of other things) at Thomas More College
(formerly Villa Madonna College) where I was an undergraduate student from 1960 to
1964. She was a superb teacher who inspired me to reach for excellence in all that I did.
She died on January 22, 2008.

John Vlissides, one of the authors of the "Design Patterns" book died on November 24, 2005.

Winter 2008:
Ryan J. Galicki (CPS) and Matthew D. Naveau (CPE) presented their Honors Program theses at the
Honors Students Symposium 2008 on Friday, February 29, 2008. Both students
have assisted me in the CPS 150 lab. Details and pictures of their presentations

On April 4, 2008, the College of Arts and Sciences held a Faculty Recognition event in conjunction with the
Fourth Annual Catholic and Marianist Education Lecture given by Dr. Roger Crum.

On May 2, 2008, members of the department held a farewell luncheon for Agnes Selvaraj at Thai9. We will
miss her. Agnes is moving back to India with her husband and children. She will
