The
University of Dayton Law Clinic is a state-of-the-art teaching law
office at the University of Dayton Law School in Dayton, Ohio.
Under the supervision of full-time law professors who are also
licensed attorneys, third-year law students represent real clients
from the greater Dayton metropolitan area while developing their
professional skills.
Our
purposes therefore are to provide high quality legal
representation to persons who cannot afford to pay a lawyer, and
to provide training to University of Dayton law students as part
of the Law School's clinical education program. Individual
clients typically come to the Law Clinic by way of referrals from
area agencies such as the Montgomery County Office of the Public
Defender, Legal Aid Society of Dayton, Artemis House (an advocacy
program for victims of domestic violence), and Wright State's
Center for Healthy Communities, among others. In addition,
we are collaborating with grassroots organizations engaged in
community building activities in certain inner-city neighborhoods.
