Your GREEN Dining Services!
Starting this fall, Dining Services has set a goal to reduce the amount of landfill waste generated in Dining Services by 90% at our full service dining halls (Kennedy Union, Barrett, Marycrest, and V.W. Kettering). This includes a major initiative to compost and recycle more. All of our traditional disposables are being replaced with 45 new compostable products. These products will eliminate the 2,013,970 Styrofoam and non-recycled plastic to-go containers that were used last year. Garick Corporation (our composting partner) has called UD’s program, "the largest institutional food scrap recycling effort in Ohio, and one of the largest university food composting processes in the nation."
Warning: HAVE YOUR LAPTOP FULLY CHARGED
WHEN COMING TO CLASS!
There is a lot of work involving hard drive usage. You are going to chew up your battery power very quickly (wireless antennae are power hogs). Therefore it is imperative that you come to class with a fully charged battery, or you will risk the possibility of losing your work at the end of class. Recharging outlets are not available in the classroom. This is particularly critical on Test days.
NOTE: Some computers allow you to turn off the DVD drive. This will save a lot of battery time.
