PHL 316: Engineering Ethics

There are 1000 possible points in the course.  Assignment sheets will be linked to the assignment descriptions below.

 

There will be three tests.  The take-home tests will consist primarily of essays and will normally be 4-5 pages in length.  The final exam will be held in class at the officially scheduled exam time.  The final will consist of two or three essays and some short answer questions.

Take-home test 1 (200 points):  due in class Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Take-home test 2 (200 points):  due in class Thursday, Mar. 11.

In-class final exam (200 points):  Thursday, Apr. 29, 2:00-3:50 p.m.  Graduating seniors must arrange to take the exam early.

 

There will be a major group research project which will involve both a class presentation in the final two weeks of class and a written report from the group.  Click here for the assignment page.

Class presentation (100 points): scheduled during the last two weeks of class.

Group research report (125 points): due no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 23 in Professor Benson's mailbox.

 

There will be three short writing assignments (SWs) that will involve writing a concise 1-2 page essay on an assigned question for the next class meeting.  Together the SWs will count for 75 points.

SW#3, due in class Apr. 35. (35 points)
