SPPQ publishes high quality academic studies that develop and test general hypotheses of political behavior and policymaking exploiting the unique methodological advantages of the states. The editors call for manuscripts examining varying aspects of political behavior, practices, institutions, and policy in the states and with no restriction on methodological or theoretical approaches. Qualitative and quantitative, single-state and multi-state studies will be considered, but only those manuscripts that meet the most rigorous methodological and theoretical standards will be published in SPPQ. All manuscripts submitted for consideration will be double-blind reviewed. The editors place a high priority on keeping the times between reviews of manuscripts and their publication to a minimum.
