All datasets are in MS Excel (.xls file extension) spreadsheet format.
A single codebook covers all data sets and should be downloaded as a
separate file (MS Word format). In order to download any file simply
click on the link below.

If you are having trouble downloading a file, your browser probably isn't set-up to recognize .xls or .doc files. Try the following to instead:
PC Users-right click the link and choose the "Save Link to File" option.

List of Experts in the 50 U.S. States - contains a list of academics who have voluntarily agreed to be contacted by journalists and fellow academics to answer questions concerning the politics and policies of a particular state.
Code Book (pdf)- contains the code book for the SPPQ dataset. This file contains descriptions of each variable within the complete dataset.

SPSS State Dataset (sav)- contains all data available to download. More than 50 variables are included in the complete data set.

Education (xls) - contains 8 variables on the educational characteristics of states.
Crime (xls) - contains 13 variables on crime and law enforcement.
