Excess Regional Whiteness is the percentage of whites in a
school that exceed the availability of the percentage of whites
in the regional application pool. Of the nine regions, the
Pacific West had the lowest percentage of whites in the
application pool (54.4%) and New England had the highest
(79.3%). The excess whiteness ration for the region is
calculated by subtracting the Regional Whiteness from a School’s
Total Whiteness, dividing the difference by the regional
whiteness, and then multiplying the total by 100. |
