1998); Health Care for Minorities in the 21st Century: Eliminating Racial Disparity in the

∙ Spoke at over 140 presentations, workshops or seminars since 1990 including ones on
“race and racism and the law”, “race, health care and the law”, managed care,
cooperative learning theory, and learning styles.
∙ Invited by United Nations Research Institute for Social Development to present paper
on "Regulating Racial Prejudice in Human Experimentation and Health Care"
∙ Delegate to the America's Citizenship Forum and attend the America Preparatory
Conference for the United Nations World Conference in Santiago, Chile (December,
2000).
∙ Received numerous awards and honors including selected for Marquis Who's Who in
the World for 1995, 1996, 1997; Chairman's Award, Ohio Commission on Minority
Health; Commendation from Ohio House of Representative; Who's Who in American
Nursing 1990-1994; Top 10 Most Influential African Americans (2001)
∙ Parent of two adult men, Tshaka (age 33) and Issa (Age 27); Hobbies - computers,
sewing, movies, dancing.
