Presiding:  President Joseph L. Watras

1. We went over the AAUP section of the University Self-Study.

        It is on page 18 of the self study.

        Issues we have been concerned about.

               Parking – Contingent faculty – serving as a sounding board for University issues.  

        Minutes and AAUP documents are available on our website.  

        We bring in outside experts through our ties to the National AAUP and try to educate  

        the faculty by presentation.  

        Our main concern is problems of Academic Freedom and Tenure.

        Dr. Watras is rewriting the AAUP section of the Self Study

2. Discussion of the pressures of Distance Learning in the School of Education.  

3.  Next meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007 at 3:00 in Roesch room 203.  

4.  Adjournment at 4:00 p.m.
