1 Internships and independent studies may be taken in CJS, POL, PSY, and SOC that have a Criminal Justice Studies emphasis. No more than 6 semester hours may be taken. Also to be offered is CJS 300 Criminal Justice Studies Career Development, CJS 399, Special Topics in Criminal Justice Studies and CJS 497, Service Learning Experience. This course work is in addition to the 36 hours required for a CJS interdisciplinary major in the Option A, total program sequence. They are not to be used as substitute courses for those listed in the areas of behavior, institutions, law and/or social structure, unless approved in advanced by the director of the Criminal Justice Studies program and the College of Arts and Sciences.
 
2 CJS 207, Research Methods in Criminal Justice Studies, requires as a prerequisite MTH 207 or PSY 216 or SOC 308. Neither PSY 216 nor SOC 308 fills the three semester hours mathematics requirement.
