INTERNSHIPS ::

A word from the Coordinator for Community Services...

Thank you for your interest in the Criminal Justice Studies Internship Program!

The mission of the University of Dayton is to prepare students to learn, lead, and serve within a tradition of cultural and religious values that reflect our great American heritage.  As a student in Criminal Justice Studies you are preparing to enter the work force in a position that will enable you to contribute to our society and the world in many ways.  At no time in history has our justice system faced more challenges or greater expectations.  These challenges call for vision, unprecedented resources, and collaboration.

The internship program provides you with a link between academics and the world of work. This experience is significant and valuable.  Students with field experience are better prepared to understand and meet the challenges following graduation.  Agencies that provide internships are often able to select and interview familiar job candidates--potentially a winning situation for the university, the student, and the agency.

Many resources contribute to a successful internship experience.  However,  you are the most essential component for success.  As the Coordinator for Community Services in the Criminal Justice Studies Program, I welcome you and look forward to working with you!

Respectfully,

Prof. Tim Apolito
Coordinator for Community Services
