The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is an international educational and scientific association. ITE members are traffic engineers, transportation planners and other professionals who are responsible for meeting society's needs for safe and efficient surface transportation through planning, design, implementation, operation and maintenance of transportation systems.

   UD ITE is a registered student organization created to promote the education and professional development of students interested in transportation engineering and planning. This organization introduces students to the many facets of transportation engineering by inviting speakers or by visiting agencies and project locations. ITE members have opportunities to improve their technical and communications skills through professional and social settings.
