Lee Hoffman, soprano: Bio

Lyric soprano Lee Hoffman teaches voice and co-directs Opera Workshop at the University of Dayton, College of Arts & Sciences, Department of Music. A versatile performer, Ms. Hoffman's solo concert performances include Crumb's Ancient Voices of Children at UD's Festival of New Music (composer in residence), Handel's Psalm 112 at the Music in the Mountains Festival in Nevada City, CA, Poulenc's Gloria with the St. Louis Camerata Singers, and Orff's Carmina Burana with members of Cincinnati's May Festival Chorus and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra at St. John's Unitarian Church. Her recital performances include Schumann's Frauenliebe und -leben with pianist Michael Chertock on the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra's Classical Connections concert at the Schuster Performing Arts Center, Brahms' only song cycle, Die schöne Magelone with pianist Phillip Farris at the University of Dayton, mélodies of Fauré at the Institute for Advanced Vocal Studies in Paris, France, motets and cantatas of Monteverdi and Zipoli in St. Louis, MO, and Lieder of Schubert and Zemlinsky at Ravinia's Stean's Institute for Young Artists, Chicago. Regionally and nationally, Ms. Hoffman performs original voice and piano music from her CD, From The Soul. A member of NATS since 1989, Lee Hoffman has nearly completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Voice Performance from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, holds a Master of Music degree from Webster University and a Bachelor of Music degree from California State University, Sacramento.
