Note: To be prepared for class you must have completed the assigned problem before class AND have a printed copy with you for use in small group. A computer copy is not sufficient. You are by definition unprepared if you don't have the copy of the problem.

I was throuoghly prepared. Several times, I voluntarily contributed to the conversation but didn’t dominate it. I made thoughtful contributions that advance the conversation. I showed interest in and respect for other views.  I participated actively in small groups but did not dominate it. I was either the notetaker or reporter for the small group. I raised diversity issues related to the topic at hand. My participation was exceptional and far above the other students in the class.

I was thoroughly prepared and contributed readily to the conversation. I contributed occasionally without prompting. I showed interest in and respect for others views. I participated actively in small groups. While my contributions may have been less well developed, they nevertheless advance the conversation without being hostile or overtly rude. Compared to other students, my participation was very good and above average.

I was prepared, but I did not voluntarily contribute to discussions and gave only minimal answers when called on;  I showed interest in the discussion, listened attentively and participated actively in small groups. Compared to other students my participation was good but average.

80
I was prepared but I participated in a problematic way. I may not have contributed at all to the larger group discussion or I made may have talk too much, made rambling poor tangential contributions, continually interrupt with digressive questions.  My participation in small group was minimal. As compared to other students, my participation was not so good and below average. 67
I attended class but was not prepared or I did not actively participate in small group.
