POL 214 – Winter 2005

Pol 214 Menu of Assignments

Everyone
must complete Menu I and Menu II.
In addition, you have the option
to do an assignment from Menu III for extra
credit. Deadlines for
assignments are shown below and on the syllabus.
All papers must include a list of sources, using one of the standard
formats for bibliographic references, plus foot/end notes or in-text references
for any quotations or to document data and non-common knowledge.
I encourage you to consult with me on any assignment for suggestions on
sources, searching strategies, and how to organize your papers.
Academic dishonesty will not be tolerated.
You are each responsible for making sure that your papers are your own
work and are properly documented when you use others’ work.
The Internet is a great research resource; it is also a great resource
for professors to find plagiarized papers!
Any plagiarized paper—whether taken from another source deliberately
or accidentally, in whole or part--will result in an automatic zero (0) for the
assignment. Late papers will be
penalized one-half grade per day. Please
consult with me if illness or family crisis creates a problem in meeting a
deadline.
