12th Annual High School Mathematics Contest

Saturday, 1 March 2008

Approximately 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Location:  Science Center, University of Dayton

This competition gets high school students running through our building solving a mathematical problem in each of ten rooms.  Teams consisting of three high school students each get to choose between questions of differing difficulty and point value.  In order to rack up points, students must pick questions strategically -- they must balance their confidence in their answer against the point value of the question.  Come join us!

In this talk, Dr. Liu will use examples to introduce options and show how they can be priced using the so called no-arbitrage principle (also known as no-free-lunch).
