INFORMATION

Michael Anderson was born in scenic Pequannock, New Jersey on November 22, 1978. Growing up in rural Alexandria Township, Mike was exposed to music at a very young age. He started piano lessons in the second grade, and began playing the horn in the fourth grade.

In his senior year at Delaware Valley Regional high School, Mike played first chair horn in the concert band, mellophone in the Golden Regiment, piano in the jazz band, helped start and played in a jazz quintet, and accompanied and sang with the chorus. He was accepted as a music major at the University of Dayton, Penn State, the College of New Jersey, and the University of Maine.

At U.D., Mike plays French horn in the ????, ???? and ????. He played mellophone/Frumpet in the ????. He is the pianist for the ????. Mike studies privately in the areas of composition with Dr. Phillip Magnuson, and horn with Dr. Richard Chenoweth.

In the future, Mike hopes to write many jazz compostions, and start a jazz band that will tour the country. He hopes to simply write for the band, or maybe even play someday. Above all, he wants to be happy and have lots of fun.
