Hi! Welcome to Stephanie Gist's homepage! Stephanie is a Music Education major in the class of 2001, from Dayton, Ohio. She started playing piano when she was seven, but at ten she moved on to the cello. At Fairborn High School Stephanie was very active; she was a member of the Orchestra and the Choirs, the National Honor Society, and the Varsity Cross Country team.
Stepahnie currently studies cello with Prof. Jane Katsuyama here at U.D. She is a member of the University Orchestra, and a string quartet, Il Quartetto del Ghetto, with fellow music majors Vincent Richardson, Keri Farley, and Deb Dempsey; the quartet is coached by Dr. Phillip Magnuson. She also enjoys playing with the Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra. Being a Music Education major, Stephanie has also joined U.D.'s chapter of the Ohio Collegiate Music Education Association. Stephanie is also a sister in the Sigma Alpha chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, and serves as the chairwoman of the Sunshine Committee.
