I am a senior music education major from Cincinnati, Ohio where I attended McAuley High School. While at McAuley, I played percussion and piano with the Orchestra and Pep Band, and performed in the Senior Chorus. I also had the privilege to attend the Ohio Summer School for the Arts. Since coming to the University of Dayton, I have enjoyed performing with the Ebony Heritage Singers, University Concert Band, and the University Orchestra. I study piano with Elizabeth Vandevander, and I have studied harpsichord with Dr. Julane Rodgers.

During the 1997-98 school year, I served as President of UD's chapter of the Ohio Collegiate Music Education Association, Collegiate TRIAD Editor on the state board of OCMEA (the TRIAD is a bimonthly publication of OMEA distributed statewide), and as a mentor to incoming first year students in the course ASI 150 "Introduction to the First Year Experience." I also enjoyed being a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, the professional women's fraternity on campus and MuSAC, the music students' advisory committee. This year I am looking forward to serving OCMEA as the State President and beginning an internship with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. Besides these activities, I also enjoy working with the University of Dayton Arts Series, the Dayton Bach Society, and in the UD Music Department.

This past summer I was very fortunate to spend a month studying in Vienna on a Hull Fellowship awarded by the UD Honors and Scholars Program.

After graduation, I hope to begin teaching at the elementary level or begin graduate work in Arts Administration and Music Education.
