Amy Hardy Finch is a native of Dayton and 1997 graduate of UD. She began playing the horn in the sixth grade and is an alumna of the All-Ohio State Fair Band, the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, NCR band and Kinhaven Music Center in Weston, VT. She graduated from Colonel White High School of the Arts in 1993 and is proud to be a product of the Dayton Public School System.
During her years at UD, Amy worked in the music office, tutored aural skills and music theory students, and participated in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, the University Orchestra, Brass Quintet, Horn Quartet, Horn Ensemble and La Quintette de la Chambre Woodwind Quintet. She studied horn with Dr. Richard Chenoweth and past teachers include Paul Austin, Carolyn Wahl, and Tom Sherwood. She is an alumna of UD's chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota.
After working in arts administration with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, she is currently Patron Services Manager with the Cincinnati Opera. She married Josh Finch on June 28, 1997, and the couple lives in Cincinnati.
