Rudy Marcozzi is Associate Professor of Music Theory at the Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University, where he is also the Coordinator of Theory at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Mr. Marcozzi received his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Dayton in 1980.

His best memories of his training there include the very frequent interaction with many outstanding faculty made possible by the small class sizes and supportive environment of the Music Department.

After his graduation from U.D., Mr. Marcozzi went on to complete an M.M. in Piano Performance at Kansas State University and then a Ph.D. from Indiana University. While at Indiana, Mr. Marcozzi held two teaching fellowships, served as editor of the Indiana Theory Review, and was the recipient of a Lieber Award in recognition of distinguished teaching. Mr. Marcozzi has published in the Indiana Theory Review and Pastoral Music, and has presented research at meetings of the College Music Society and Music Theory Midwest. His research interests include musicianship pedagogy and the analysis of late nineteenth century opera, and he is also active as a church musician throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago.
