Coral Owdom, soprano, is in her last semester at Manhattan School of Music where she studies with Trish McCaffrey. In May of 2000 she will graduate with her Master of Music.

In 1998, she covered the title role in the chamber opera Savitri, by Gustav Holst, at the school. Currently she is involved in the Opera Program's Outreach group which takes educational shows into New York City schools. Last summer, Ms Owdom was a Studio Artist with Chautauqua Opera in Chautauqua, New York.

This past fall Ms. Owdom covered the leading role of Mary in the New York premiere of William Mayer's A Death in the Family. In January she was a winner in the Opera Columbus Senior Vocal Competition and she is currently preparing for her April 1st graduate recital at the school's Hubbard Hall. The recital will feature Poulenc's Fiancailles Pour Rire, Barber's Hermit Songs, and selections by Schubert, Mozart, and Dvorak. She looks forward to future engagements as an Apprentice Artist with the Santa Fe Opera and as a Young Artist with the Pittsburgh Opera Center at Duquesne.
