Jennifer Shoup graduated with a B.M. in Performance ('99) and recently received a M.M. in Piano Performance and Certificate in Piano Pedagogy from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. While in Dayton, Jennifer studied with Dr. Eric Street and Donald Hageman; in Pittsburgh she studied with Enrique Graf, Hanna Wu Li (Piano Pedagogy) and Luz Manriquez (Chamber Music). Jennifer has presented solo and chamber concerts for the Dayton Art Institute, the Dayton Chamber Music Society, and the Wright State University, Tiffin University and Indiana University at Pennsylvania Artist Series. Most recently she performed on the Piccolo Spoleto Artist Series in South Carolina and the Frostburg University Artist Series in Maryland. She has performed with members of the Dayton Philharmonic and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Dayton Ballet Company, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and Opera Theatre Pittsburgh.

In February of 2000, Jennifer was invited to the 32nd Semanas Musicales in Chile where she performed both solo and duo-piano concerts in collaboration with members of the National Orchestra of Chile. She was also invited this past March 2001 to appear as guest soloist with the National Symphony of Costa Rica in San Jose.

She has received numerous honors including the Joseph J. Mervar Award of Excellence to the Outstanding Student in Music (UD), The Outstanding Collaborative Pianist Award (UD), and the Sigma Alpha Iota Sword of Honor. She was also a recipient of the Cordell W. Hull International Fellowship in 1998 which assisted in her musical studies in Vienna, Austria. While in Pittsburgh, Jennifer taught in the Carnegie Mellon Preparatory School for two years. She has recently returned to the Dayton area and teaches part-time in the Department of Music at UD and in the Beavercreek School District.
