Hi! I am Diane Gilley, Adjunct Professor of Flute at the University of Dayton. In addition to teaching private flute lessons, I teach flute pedagogy, conduct flute repertoire classes, and coach flute ensembles. I was appointed to the U.D. Music Faculty in 1972, and I have maintained my own flute studio for 38 years. Many of my former students now teach flute at various universities, and many hold key positions in orchestras throughout the United States and abroad.

I received my music degree from the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati where I studied flute for ten years. I also studied flute with Marcel Moyse at Malboro College in Vermont. After playing with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dayton Opera Orchestra, and various chamber ensembles for 23 years, I pursued additional studies to receive a master's degree in counseling and a license in Social Work from the State of Ohio. I currently also hold a teaching position in a Catholic school where I was nominated to receive the Teacher of the Year Award last year.
