Alice Hotopp graduated from Oberlin Conservatory where she was a Vocal Performance Major and received two honorary awards plus a graduate teaching assistantship upon graduation. Professionally, she performed with The Gilbert & Sullivan Players on Cape Cod, on Broadway, appeared on national television, and toured with Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians.

In addition to teaching private voice and voice classes at the University of Dayton and operating her vocal studio, she formerly taught at Antioch College for several years. Mrs. Hotopp has recorded for Lorenz Publishing Co. and American Psalm Choir and has sung recitals, oratorios and symphony performances through out the Mid-west. She was selected as the Official Ohio Soprano for The National BiCentennial Chorus in 1976. Other solo performances include churches, temples, Music Club, chamber music, Bach Society, Opera Funatics and Dayton Opera. She sang "Operation Opera" in elementary schools, lead roles at La Comedia Dinner Theatre and Theatre Under the Stars. She has coached and/or directed UD musicals and is Co-director of UD Opera Workshop.

She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and her students have received awards in NATS, Music Club, and Opera Guild competitions.
