The study of composition is done in a one-on-one format. The grade for the course relies entirely on outside composition projects, which are evaluated on a weekly basis, both in progress and when completed. All completed works are expected to be read and/or performed, preferably in a recital context. This course is not for the faint-hearted. Students are expected to be diligent, creative, and open-minded.
