Hey y'all! NO, I'm not from down south....well, just a lil bit. I came from a small city inside a big city, good ol' Cincinnati. I have lived there all my life, but plan to move when my singing career takes off. Yeah, you heard me! I'm a singer. I love it, and couldn't imagine myself without my voice. God has given me a special gift, and I hope to share it with the world.
Since the age of four, I have been singing at my church. I have traveled to many others as a special guest, also. I have been in many musicals throughout my career, and even benefit concerts. My first musical was during the winter of my eighth grade year, Music Man. Even then, I was a featured soloist. I then moved up my freshman year, and was cast a small part in the musical Sweet Charity. I also took part in the benefit concert, Dreams Come True. My sophomore year, my choral/musical director gave me the part as the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz. I really wanted the part of Dorothy, but my director knew that the cowardly lion would suit me best. I stole the show!!! The following year brought bigger and better things. I was Rizzo in the hit musical Grease. Once again, I was upset because I really wanted to be Sandy. But, little did I know that Rizzo actually was the lead. Contrary to the movie, when Sandy was the star, the musical was completely different. Once again, I stole the show. My senior year brought much contoversy. I was offered the role as Rose in the musical Bye Bye Birdie. But, since we weren't going to have one, it kinda got a late start. Which conflicted with our spring break. Since I had been planning my senior spring break from the end of my junior year, I turned down the proposition. I still got the second lead as Kim, which turned out to be a great experience. As an alto, I was forced to sing a soprano lead.....something I never thought I could do.
I have come along way just since the end of my senior year. I have never been exposed to classical music, and then was supposed to audition at colleges with a different technique and style then ever before. I am very impressed at how my voice has changed. I have never taken voice lessons before and now study here at UD. I want to be a Music Teacher, and act during the summer. I would really love to be a Music Theatre major, but you don't have a steady job after you have the degree. So, for now, I'll stick with being a teacher. I don't think I could ever give singing up!!! thanx for visiting my web page!! Email me anytime!!!
