Godspell April 2001 |
Senior year created many opportunities for Ann Marie to grow musically. Ann Marie became involved in the NDCL Orchestra, directed by Mr. Joseph Acerra and the Liturgical Music Ministry, led by Mr. Anthony Camino, while continuing her participation in the NDCL Chorus, conducted by Mr. Thomas Lipps. She was appointed the student director of both the orchestra and the chorus, became secretary of the music room, and achieved position as first chair flutist in orchestra. She performed numerous solos throughout the school year at NDCL Masses and assemblies. In order to better prepare for a music major, Ann Marie began private piano studies in November of 2000 under Mrs. Barbara Klonowski of Willoughby Fine Arts Academy. Ann Marie played the role of Peggy in the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin performance of Godspell in April of 2001 and was asked to sing at the Class of 2001's graduation in June of 2001. Because of her dedication, Ann Marie was awarded the National School Choral Award, the National School Orchestra Award, and the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Performing Arts Music Scholarship at the 2001 NDCL Performing Arts Awards Banquet.

Serving others through her music has been most fulfilling to Ann Marie. Because God has blessed her with the gift of music, she desires to use it to better the lives of others. In the fall of 1998, Ann Marie accepted the position as co-leader of Music Ministry for her youth group, Youth for Christ (YFC). She and Jim Sanders, friend and fellow member of YFC, lead all music for Cleveland YFC meetings and retreats. In the summer of 1999, Ann Marie and Jim, along with the YFC band, performed an original composition by Jim and Ann Marie at the YFC National Conference in Jacksonville, Florida.
