Hi, my name is Kris Alavattam. I am a graduate of Fairborn High School pursuing a degree in Music Composition at the University of Dayton.

My primary instrument is the saxophone, having played it since the sixth grade. Prior to  saxophone studies with Dr. Willie Morris III my senior year, I studied with Jack Roseberry and Chad Fourman. I am currently studying with Prof. Garin Webb and Dr. Morris.

My composing and arranging career began in the fall of my sophomore year, when a friend introduced me to a midi sequencer while I was at a party. I immediately fell in love with the composition of music (and later arranging) and have obsessed with it since that night. At the University of Dayton, I am under the composition and arranging tutelage of Dr. Phillip Magnuson and Prof. Damon Sink.
Some major career highlights include a live, professionally recorded performance of an extensive medley based on the music of How the Grinch Stole Christmas for saxophone sextet, a performance of The Star-Spangled Banner arranged for saxophone sextet, the premiere of Serenade for Saxes by composer Don Williams, and a commission for two original works to be premiered at a wedding.
