COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course presents ethics and public integrity issues from a leadership perspective to sensitize students with strong interests in service and leadership to a variety of values-related issues they may confront in the future. Course topics include
· A model of public integrity
· The temptation of power
· Cognitive dissonance problems in leadership (and followership)
· Corruption
· Remedies to improve ethics in government or other organizations
· Conflict resolution and reconciliation
· Integrity in personal lives
· Values-related problem resolution
·
Leadership and long-term
accomplishment.
This course material relates to a broad gamut of political
science and human rights studies measures as well as to
students with interests in journalism (related to public
affairs) and in psychology. Generally, classes will be
conducted as seminar discussions with active student
participation.
