Captain Brian C. Harber assumed the duties as Assistant Professor of Military Science on 15 July 2007. His previous assignment was to the 6th Ranger Training Battalion (RTB) at Camp James E. Rudder in Florida. During his assignment at 6th RTB, he served as a Platoon Tactics Trainer and Ranger Instructor.

 

CPT Harber entered the Army in January of 1988, and attended Basic Training and AIT at Fort Benning, Georgia where he was awarded the primary MOS of 11B.

 

His early assignment was with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. During his tour he served as a Fire Team Leader during the Persian Gulf War. His following assignments were with the 6th Infantry Division at Fort Richardson, Alaska; 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York; 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Lewis, Washington. Brian served in positions from Machine Gunner to Platoon Sergeant.

 

CPT Harber graduated from Officer Candidate School in 2002. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and branched in the Infantry. Upon completing the Infantry Officer Basic Course at FT Benning, Georgia, he was assigned to Fort Richardson, Alaska. While assigned to C Co. 1/501st in Alaska, he served as a platoon leader and deployed to Khowst, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

 

In January 2006, Brian attended Infantry Captains Career Course at Fort Benning, Georgia.

 

His awards include the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal w/ 3rd oak leaf cluster, the Army Achievement Medal w/4th oak leaf cluster, the South West Asia Service Medal with two bronze stars, the Saudi Arabian Kuwait Liberation Medal, the Kuwaiti Kuwait Liberation Medal and both the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medal.

 

He holds the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Expert Infantryman’s Badge.

 

Brian has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Wayland Baptist University.

 

Brian is married to the former Dailanna Roberts from Westport, Washington, and they have four children: Jacob (12), Briana (9), Nina (4), and Joshua (4).
