MAJ Christopher Adams assumed duties as the Assistant professor of Military Science on 2 March 2007. His previous assignment was the Deputy Logistics Officer for 18th Field Artillery Brigade (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, NC where he was responsible for management and execution of the Brigade budget as well as resourcing of equipment consolidation and updates and management of the brigade transformation to a Modular Fires Brigade.

MAJ Adams graduated from the University of Dayton in December 1997 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and branched Field Artillery. Upon completion of the Field Artillery Officer’s Basic Course at Fort Sill, OK, Chris was assigned to 2-17 Field Artillery in the Republic of Korea and attached to 1-9 Infantry as a Company Fire Support Officer serving 2 rotations on the Demilitarized Zone as part of a quick reaction force and security element.

In 2000, MAJ Adams was re-assigned to the United States Army Field Artillery Center and School at Fort Sill, OK as the Executive Officer to D Battery, 1-19th Field Artillery, a one station unit training battery for 13B cannon crew members. In 2001 he moved to 3d Armored Corps Artillery to be the Executive officer and Fire Direction Officer for C Battery 5-3 Field Artillery, a multiple Launch Rocket System Battery.

Upon Completion of the Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course and Combined Arms Staff and Service School, MAJ Adams was assigned to XVIII Airborne Corps Artillery at Fort Bragg, NC in 2002. While there he served as a Liason to war traced National Guard battalions and Deputy Plans Officer. While assigned to Corps Artillery, MAJ Adams deployed to Taszar, Hungary as part of Task Force Warrior to train Free Iraqi Forces prior to Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In 2004,MAJ Adams was re-assigned to 1-377 Field Artillery Regiment (Air Assault) where he assumed duties of Battalion Fire Direction Officer. In September 2004 he assumed command of A Battery 1-377 FAR (AASLT). During his 2 years in command, MAJ Adams deployed to the Anbar Province of Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His Battery conducted security operations for Combat Logistics Patrols throughout Iraq.

MAJ Adams awards include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, and the Korean Defense Service Medal. He also has earned the Parachutist Badge and Air Assault Badge.

He is married to the former Kristine Brown of Henrietta, NY. They have a daughter, Abigail (3) and a son, Nicholas, born in October.
