MSG Dohr is originally from Chicago, IL. He enlisted in the Army in 1991 attending basic training at Fort Jackson, SC and completed advanced individual training at Redstone Arsenal, AL as an Ammunition Specialist. In 1994 he changed his MOS to Infantryman. MSG Dohr has served in numerous leadership positions which include: Fire Team Leader, Squad Leader, Pre-Ranger Instructor, Air Operations NCO, Platoon Sergeant, Chief Instructor/Writer, and First Sergeant.

His previous assignments include A Co. and C Co. 2nd Battalion, 29th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia; HHC 173rd Airborne Brigade, HHC and B Co. 2nd Battalion (ABN), 503rd Infantry Regiment Vicenza, Italy; C Co. 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division Fort Bragg, North Carolina; A Co. 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division Fort Drum, New York; B Co. 5th Battalion, 87th Infantry Fort Kobbe, Panama; HHC DISCOM 82nd Airborne Division Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Throughout his career, MSG Dohr has continued to further his military education and training. He has graduated PLDC, BNCOC, ANCOC and USASMA First Sergeant Courses. He has completed the Basic Airborne Course, Air Assault Course, Ranger school, Jumpmaster Course, U.S. Army Short and Long Range Marksman Courses, and EMT Basic.

MSG Dohr is married to the former Ms. Rita Hammonds of Raeford, North Carolina. They have four children Coty (14), Christian (12), Connor (3), and Caitlin (3 months).
