My name is
Emily Buckley, and I am an MSII cadet from Indianapolis,
Indiana.
I decided to
join Army ROTC because I had always felt drawn to the challenge
and discipline the military seemed to provide. Since I don’t
come from a military family, I had no idea what to expect
heading into my first PT session as a freshman. However, I
became hooked, and would not trade my experiences in ROTC for
anything.
ROTC has given
me invaluable opportunities I would never have had as a regular
college student. As an MSI, I pledged Pershing Rifles, a
professional military fraternity, and this past fall, I competed
at Fort Knox on the Ranger Challenge team. Through these
experiences, I have been taught the skills needed to excel in
future ROTC challenges, and eventually as an Army officer.
As a cadet, you
truly become a part of something greater than yourself. I
strongly recommend pursuing Army ROTC at the University of
Dayton-I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
