TERM:  Normally, 3-year appointment, except students are appointed for one-year terms. 

 

PURPOSE: The International Coordinating Committee is appointed by and responsible to the Provost.  It approves, reviews, and coordinates the development of the University’s international education strategy as defined by the Provost, the Provost’s Council, the Academic Senate, and the Center for International Programs.  The Committee, through consultation with academic and support units, assures the quality of all for-credit study abroad opportunities offered by the University.  It reviews and coordinates all plans for faculty development in international education, for faculty exchange programs with foreign universities, and for recruiting foreign student enrollments.   

 

MEETINGS:  At the call of the chairperson, the Director of the Center for International Programs.

 

MEMBERSHIP COMPOSITION:  Historically, guidelines indicated the committee should include one administrator from Business and Finance, one faculty member from each area offering a Study Abroad Program and a student whom has participated in the Study Abroad Programs.
