New Business:

Joyce Carter and other representative from Human Resources presented materials related to benefits for university employees.  It is clear that Health care, tuition remission, disability, and paid medical leave are the most important benefits   for employees. Of these, health care is the most important issue for the University to address.  They presented information that has been used in benefit focus groups and results of those groups related to health care benefits.  They also presented possible proposals for health care benefits.  Possibilities include changes in the various plans, spousal surcharges, tiered premiums, and discounted premiums for non-smokers.  There was considerable discussion of all of these issues and proposals.

Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 1:15 PM.

Respectfully Submitted,

Patricia A. Johnson, Secretary
