APC Meeting Minutes

7 present committee (Daugherty, Weaver Dunne, Sargent, Pedrotti, Cox, and Bickford)

I. Reviewed Minutes from September 26, Meeting. Dunn was misspelled. Should have been Dunne.

II. Old Business:

1. General Education Review process – update

Discussed the General Education Review Process. The committee would like regular progress reports from the General Ed. Process. More than just the final one as indicated.

III. New Business:

1. Technology – Policy on fair, responsible, and acceptable use of electronic resources

a. Is this one document for all 3 levels: Students, Staff, Administration? Is this really appropriate? Is the group satisfied with documents? (no)

b. Who will review it? What is the time line for a systematic review? It should be reviewed after a certain time line. How to prevent abuse of the system. What is the appeals process? It says that the ERP does the review. Who is in charge of implementation? The document doesn’t help people give oversight it before the offense occurs.

2. Academic Calendar Issue Revisited:

After raising a number of issues, it was decided Weaver would contact Dr. Geiger and T. Westendorf to surface the pros and cons of the change.

3. What about the submission of grades? What’s the implementation process since this item passed the Senate in 1996?
