All First Year Sociology Students enrolling for Winter 2005 should choose:

ENG 102, College Composition II

Communication Courses ~

bulletCMM 110, Group Decision Making
bulletCMM 111, Informed Public Speaking or CMM 112, Persuasive Public Speaking
bulletCMM 113, Interviewing

And choose two of the following:

PHL 103, Introduction to Philosophy

REL 103, Introduction to Religion

HST 103, History of the West and World or HST 198, History Honors Seminar (Permission only)

Physical and Life Sciences ~ one lecture course with lab
(suggested: SCI 190, The Physical Universe and SCI 190L, The Physical Universe Lab)

POL 201, The American Political System

PSY, Introduction to Psychology

Mathematics Course ~ if not previously taken, based upon placement tests

Humanities Course ~ if not previously taken ~

bulletForeign Language
bulletCreative or Performing Arts
bulletOther Humanities Courses

And choose one of the following:

SOC 204, Modern Social Problems

SWK 201, Social Work Practice and Profession

SOC 101, Principles of Sociology (if not previously taken)

Any upper level Sociology offering is available upon completion of SOC 101.
