Students who wish to minor in Sociology, Anthropology, or Social Work must complete the following requirements. Students are also advised to visit the Department Office to complete a Declaration of Minor form. No appointment is required.

REQUIREMENTS

The Sociology Minor

  • 15 semester hours in Sociology.
  • 12 hours must be at the 300-400 level.
  • Consult with department chair or Sociology faculty to plan selection of courses.

The Anthropology Minor

  • 15 semester hours in Anthropology.
  • Coursework must include ANT 150, Cultural Anthropology.
  • 12 hours must be at the 300-400 level.
  • Consult with department chair or anthropology faculty to plan selection of courses.

The Social Work Minor

  • 15 semester hours in Social Work.
  • 12 hours must be at the 300-400 level.
  • The Social Work minor is available to students from all majors on campus.
  • No more than 6 semester hours of field experience credit can be accepted toward the minimum 15-hour requirement. (Students may take additional field experience credits if they choose, but cannot use them toward the minor.)
  • Consult with department chair or Social Work faculty to plan selection of courses.
