THE UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in sociology beginning in August 2005 to teach in a department with an urban/community focus. We are seeking a Ph.D. who conducts research and teaches from a symbolic interactionist perspective. Candidates with expertise in social psychology and identity construction are preferred, other areas will be considered. The successful candidate will teach both introductory courses and upper-division courses in their areas of expertise. Teaching experience is preferred. Salary is competitive. We are seeking a Ph.D. who will teach the undergraduate research methods/data analysis sequence, Principles of Sociology and other courses in areas of expertise. This appointment begins August 16, 2005 and runs until May 15, 2006. Candidates having teaching experience with an urban/community substantive focus are preferred. Salary is competitive.
