Requirements for minors from the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at the University of Dayton are listed below. Students should consult with the department chair, Dr. Fran Pestello, or a faculty member of your chosen minor to plan selection of courses. The faculty page gives information as to each instructor's area of study, as well as providing links to email.

Requirements for a Sociology Minor

Required: 15 semester hours in Sociology

Note: 12 hours must be at the 300-400 level.

   

Requirements for an Anthropology Minor

Required: 15 semester hours in Anthropology

Note: Must include ANT 150 - Cultural Anthropology, plus 12 hours must be
at the 300-400 level.

   

Requirements for a Social Work Minor

Required: 15 semester hours in Social Work

Note: 12 hours must be at the 300-400 level.

The social work minor is available to students from all majors on campus.

No more than 6 semester hours of field experience credit can be accepted toward the minimum 15 hour requirement. (Students may take additional field experience credits it they choose but cannot use them toward the minor.)
