| This course explores the relationship between patients
and their health care providers and the potential malpractice liability
arising from that relationship. Students will examine key concepts such
as negligence, proximate cause, damages, and informed consent. Defenses
to malpractice action will be explored. The course will also
highlight the movement toward statutory regulation and reform including
the use of arbitration and other methods of alternative dispute
resolution. |
